So it’s probably been a month since I last wrote and there is a really good reason for that. Please follow me closely here:
We are in the process of a step-parent adoption between Styles’ birth father and Kyle. I had just received the papers back from the attorney when we got news that Kyle was going to be taking a new job in Raleigh, NC. *sigh* Great. We considered continuing with the adoption in Georgia but that meant lying under oath, something that neither of us was willing to do.
In the mean time, Styles’ birth dad and I haven’t been getting along at. all. It’s a long, sordid story that involves an alcoholic fiance’ and child support. I’m not telling that story here. It’s largely irrelevant anyhow. I’m telling you that because I was terrified that once the ex and his drunk fiance’ broke things off, he wouldn’t want to go through with the adoption OR he would give me heck about moving to North Carolina. I really don’t want to go to court other than to finalize the adoption so the thought of talking to him about taking Styles to Raleigh was daunting to say the least. Not to mention Kyle’s already gone and I am left with the task of packing, finding renters, scheduling carpet cleanings, and organizing movers.
I finally made the call and told him what was up.
He was totally cool with me taking Styles to North Carolina and resuming the adoption process here.
THANK YOU, GOD!
So the agreeable ex is agreeable again and Raleigh, HERE WE COME!
Anyways, because my entire life revolves around our move right now, I couldn’t bring myself to write anything. If it doesn’t come from the heart, it’s not worth saying, right?
But now that I have the go-ahead, I can talk about my life again.
While all of that was going on, my hosting expired and I didn’t renew it. I seriously considered throwing in the towel. How in heck can I continue with my blog if I’m moving and settling into a new place? AND trying to stay out of tech-heaven while Kyle is home? But I knew that Mamom wouldn’t be happy with that decision so I renewed my hosting and I will continue to write.
I have so much topical content to talk about but no time to get it on virtual paper.
My goal for today is to pack Grady’s closet (which is really just my second closet full of CRAP), and go to Zumba at 6. I then have a dinner date with my neighbors at 7:30. Some time after that, I will sit down with my trusty laptop and tell you all about how GOOD Grady is being at the “Y” nowadays.
Until tonight, peace and blessings!
